Account Safety & Security
At Droppie, your security is our top priority. Whether you're moving funds in your wallet or managing your shop, making sure nobody else has access to your account is key. We’ve built in several layers of protection so you can transact with peace of mind.
1. Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security. Even if someone guesses your password, they can't log in without the unique code sent to your phone or authenticator app.
- Go to Profile > Edit Profile.
- Click on Security.
- Toggle on Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for either the Email or Authenticator App channel.
- Follow the prompts to securely configure 2fa: i.e linking your authenticator app (like Google Authenticator or Authy) by scanning the QR code.
- Save your backup codes in a safe place!
Always use an authenticator app. It provides robust protection against SIM-swapping and unauthorized access compared to other methods.
2. Resetting Your Password
Forgot your password? No stress. Here's how to reset it securely:
- From the Login screen, click "Forgot Password?"
- Enter the email address linked to your Droppie account.
- Check your email for a reset link. Click it.
- Enter your new password. Make sure it's strong (mix of letters, numbers, and symbols).
3. Blocking Users
If a buyer or seller is harassing you or acting suspiciously, you can block them.
- Go to the user's profile.
- Tap the three dots (options menu) in the top right corner.
- Select Block User.
- Blocking removes follow connections and limits social visibility between the accounts.
Unblocking a User
- Go to Profile > Edit profile > Privacy > Blocked Users.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Find the user you want to unblock and tap Unblock.
Blocking Caveats
- Blocking does not automatically cancel past orders placed before they were blocked.
- If a blocked user has an active order, that order will proceed unless disputed or canceled through the normal channels.
- Repeated blocking/abuse reports may trigger a manual review by Trust & Safety.
4. Account Deletion
We hate to see you go, but if you need to close your account, you have full control over your data.
Note: Account deletion is permanent after a 30-day grace period. During this period, your profile will be deactivated. After 30 days, all your data (except legally required transaction records) will be permanently wiped.
- Go to Profile > Edit Profile > Privacy.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- You will be prompted to withdraw any remaining wallet balance. You cannot delete an account with funds still in the wallet.
- Confirm your decision using your 2FA.
