Instagram Integration & Content Import
Droppie's Instagram integration lets you connect your Instagram account, sync posts, and convert imported content into product listings from the create flow.
Prerequisites
- Instagram Account: Connect the account you want to manage from Droppie.
- For publishing drops: Complete Setting Up Your Shop, including your pickup address.
- KYC Verification: You must have an approved KYC (identity verification) before creating or publishing drops. Instagram import itself is not KYC-gated, but converting imported content into a live drop requires KYC approval. See KYC Verification.
Connecting Your Instagram Account
Step 1: Navigate to Integrations
- Log into Droppie.
- Go to Profile > Edit profile > Socials.
- Find Instagram and tap Connect Instagram.
Step 2: Authorize Droppie
You will be redirected to Instagram's authorization page. Once approved, the connection appears in Droppie's Connected Accounts view, where you can sync, reconnect, or disconnect later.
Step 3: Confirm Connection
Once authorized, you'll return to Droppie. Your Instagram account is now connected and ready for syncing or cross-posting.
Importing Instagram Content
Converting Imported Posts
When you choose an imported Instagram post in the create flow, Droppie pre-fills the drop form with the post media and caption. You can then edit the title, description, price, quantity, tags, and shipping-related fields before saving or scheduling the drop.
Imported Instagram content is treated as a starting point, not a finished listing.
What Information Gets Imported
| Item | Imported? | Notes |

Editing Imported Content
After importing, you can edit any field:
- Open the item in the create or edit flow.
- Modify:
- Title
- Description
- Price
- Quantity
- Collection
- Tags
- Weight
- Dimensions
- Images and media order
Why Edit the Description?
Your Instagram caption is creative and engaging. Your Droppie description needs to be detailed and informative.
Instagram Example:
✨ vintage band tee vibes ✨ check your size before buying!
Droppie Example:
Vintage Metallica Tour Tee, Size Medium. 100% cotton, excellent condition. No stains or holes. Originally from 1994 tour. Fits true to size. Wash in cold water. Very rare, only one available.
See the difference? Droppie descriptions need specifics to prevent disputes.
Scheduling Imported Drops
After importing, you can schedule the product to go live at a specific time:
- Open the item in the create flow.
- Choose Schedule Drop.
- Select the date and time.
- Save the drop.
Scheduled collections show a countdown in the shop preview and detail view until the go-live time.
Disconnecting Instagram
To stop using Instagram integration:
- Go to Profile > Edit profile > Socials.
- Find Instagram.
- Tap Disconnect.
- Confirm.
Your imported products stay in your shop. You can still sell them. You just won't be able to import new photos.

Description Looks Weird After Import

- Re-format for clarity and detail
Best Practices
1. High-Quality Photos
Import photos that are:
- Well-lit and in focus
- Show the product clearly
- Have good composition
- Multiple angles (if possible, import multiple photos of the same product)
2. Detailed Descriptions
After importing, expand the caption:
- Add size, color, material
- Note condition and wear
- Include care instructions
- Add any missing details
3. Strategic Timing
- Import your best-performing posts (highest engagement on Instagram)
- Schedule drops around your Instagram promotional calendar
- Coordinate drops with Stories and Reels
4. Keep Photos Recent
Your Instagram feed shows your latest work. Import recent photos to show current inventory.
5. Update Regularly
- Post new content to Instagram weekly
- Import new photos every few days
- Refresh your Droppie inventory to match your Instagram aesthetic
Pro Tips
Tip 1: Use Captions as Templates
Your Instagram caption often contains the key selling points. Use it as a starting point, then add details:
Instagram Caption: "Handmade leather journal, limited run"
Droppie Description: "Handmade leather journal, limited run of 10 units. 200 pages, 7x10 inches, natural vegetable-tanned leather. Each one is unique with natural variations. Includes bookmark and elastic band. Perfect for sketching or journaling. Ships within 3 days."
Tip 2: Create Content with Droppie in Mind
When posting to Instagram, think: "Would this make a good Droppie listing?"
Good Instagram post = Good Droppie listing.
Tip 3: Link Your Instagram Bio
Update your Instagram bio to link directly to your Droppie shop. When followers tap, they go directly to your storefront.
Example Bio:
🌈 Custom vintage pieces | Shop now → [link to Droppie shop]
Tip 4: Use Stories to Drive Traffic
Post a Story: "New drops just posted on Droppie! Link in bio!" This drives followers from Instagram to Droppie.
Tip 5: Hashtag Strategy
Your Instagram hashtags don't directly help on Droppie, but they help you get discovered on Instagram. Once discovered, you drive them to your Droppie shop. It's a funnel.
