1. DEFINITIONS


For purposes of this Privacy Policy:

  • Controller: Means the Company, which determines the purposes and means of processing personal data.
  • Customer: Means any person who browses, pre-saves, pre-orders, purchases or otherwise acquires Product(s) on the Platform.
  • Personal Data: Means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
  • Platform: Means the Company's website, apps, APIs and related services that connect Vendors and Customers, enable Drops, listing, pre-saves, ordering, payments, and other services.
  • Merchant: Means any person or business that lists Products on the Platform for sale (also "Vendor" or "Seller").
  • Processing: Means any operation performed on Personal Data such as collection, storage, retrieval, use, disclosure, or deletion.
  • User: Means a vendor or a customer
  • Vendor: Means any individual or entity registered as a seller on our platform.


2. APPLICATION OF THIS POLICY


2.1 This Privacy Policy applies to systems, operations and processes of Droppie that involve the collection, use, storage, handling and disclosure of personal information. This Privacy Policy applies generally to the business of Droppie and serves to set out our approach to personal data, inclusive of personal data of our Users.


2.2 This Privacy Policy applies to your use of (regardless of means of access to) our Platforms and services. You may access or use our Platforms and Services through a desktop, laptop, mobile phone, tablet, or other consumer electronic device (each, a "Device"). This Privacy Policy also applies to offline interactions with Droppie.


2.3 By accessing or using any of our Platforms or Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy.


2.4 This Privacy Policy does not apply to platforms or services that are not owned or controlled by Droppie, including third-party websites and the services of Droppie's vendors.



3. PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT


3.1 We automatically collect and store certain types of information regarding your use of Droppie's Platforms or services including information about your searches, views, downloads and purchases. In addition, we may receive information about you from third parties including our carriers; payment service providers; merchants/brands; and advertising service providers. These types of personal data may relate to your device (such as your PC, tablet or other mobile device), your use of our websites and apps (as well as certain third-party websites with whom we have partnered), and/or your personal preferences, interests, or geographic location. Examples of the kind of data we collect include:


3.2 Data We Collect from Vendors

We may collect the following vendor information:

  • Full name / Business name / Company name
  • Business/Company registration information (inclusive of RC/BN number)
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Pickup locations or operational addresses ("Drops")
  • Bank account details / settlement account
  • Identification documents (e.g., NIN of directors/proprietors, CAC documents)
  • Tax information
  • Inventory information
  • Transaction records
  • Device data and IP addresses (including but not limited to Information about your device, operating system, browser, and IP address)
  • Any other information voluntarily provided

3.3 Data We Collect from Customers

We may collect customer information such as:

  • Full name
  • Delivery address
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Passport photograph
  • Utility bill
  • Payment information (handled via secure third-party processors)
  • Order and transaction history
  • Contact preferences
  • Device data, cookies, and IP address (including but not limited to Information about your device, operating system, browser, and IP address)
  • Any additional information voluntarily provided during checkout or support interactions
  • Tax information

3.4 Data Automatically Collected

6. SHARING OF PERSONAL DATA


6.1 We may share your data and information with:

  • Delivery and logistics partners (for fulfilment and pickup)

  • KYC verification partners: Dojah (full name, DOB, BVN, NIN, ID photos) - https://dojah.io/privacy
  • Regulatory or law enforcement authorities (where required)
  • Third-party service providers including but not limited to:
    • Cloud storage providers
    • Identity verification partners
    • Analytics providers
    • Customer support tools
  • Vendors and Customers, but only the minimum data necessary for completing a transaction
  • Affiliates or corporate partners
  • Any other third party with your explicit consent

6.2 We may share your Personal Information with unaffiliated third parties: (1) if you request or authorize it; (2) if the information is provided to help complete a transaction for you; (3) for our everyday business purposes; or (4) for publication of our events and competitions on digital and print media; (5) to comply with legal requirements or cooperation with law enforcement authorities; (6) with delivery companies to facilitate order dispatches. We may also publish relevant Personal Information including your image, where you have won a gift in our competitions, giveaways and promotions. We may also share your Personal Information as permitted by applicable law or otherwise described in this Privacy Policy.



7. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS


If data is transferred or stored outside Nigeria:

  • It will be done in compliance with requirements of the applicable law on cross-border transfer requirements;
  • Adequate safeguards, such as contractual clauses or secure hosting arrangements, will be implemented.


8. DATA RETENTION


We retain personal data only for as long as you have a Droppie account with us or as otherwise necessary for:

  • Contractual fulfilment
  • Legal and regulatory compliance
  • Accounting and audit obligations
  • Fraud prevention
  • Analytics
  • Legitimate business interest

Data no longer required will be securely deleted or anonymized in line with legal requirements applicable and in force at the time of action.



9. DATA SECURITY


9.1 We have put in place security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.


We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.


We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures including:

  • Access control and role-based permissions
  • Secure data storage
  • Regular vulnerability assessments
  • Credentials verification
  • Staff training on data protection


10. RIGHTS OF DATA SUBJECTS


Users have the right to:

  • Request correction or updates

  • Request erasure ("right to be forgotten")

  • Lodge complaints with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC)

Certain rights such as the right to request erasure and the right to data portability require that a request first be lodged via email to the contact highlighted in clause 15 below. Note that this process is merely to notify the Company and enable the Company proceed with fulfilling the request.



11. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY


Our services are not intended for persons under 18 (eighteen) years of age.


We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you are under the age of 18, do not use our Services or submit any information to us.



12. COOKIES AND LOCAL STORAGE


We use cookies for:

  • Personalisation
  • Security

Users may disable cookies via browser settings. Users may also clear local storage by navigating to browser settings - clear browsing data.


Note however, that disabling cookies will NOT clear local storage data and clearing local storage data will not disable cookies.



13. THIRD-PARTY LINKS


Our platforms may contain external links to other websites which we do not control. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices. But we encourage users to review their privacy policies separately.



14. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY


Subject to applicable law, we may revise this Privacy Policy at any time and in our sole discretion. The revised Privacy Policy will be effective upon posting via our Services, unless otherwise set forth therein or as otherwise required by applicable law. You are free to decide whether or not to accept a revised version of this Privacy Policy, but accepting this Privacy Policy, as revised, is required for you to continue accessing or using our Services. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy or any revised version of this Privacy Policy, your sole recourse is to terminate your access and use of our Services. Except as otherwise expressly stated by us, your access and use of our Services is subject to the version of this Privacy Policy in effect at the time of access or use.
